CHICAGO (USA) - 12 February 2020: Tate & Lyle, a global provider of ingredients and solutions for the food, beverage and other markets, today announced its entry into the personal care category with the introduction of TEXTURLUX® Personal Care Additives, a range of high bio-based specialty polymers for skin, hair and sun care available in North America.

The TEXTURLUX® Personal Care Additives range is designed to give personal care formulators bio-based options in thickening, emulsion stabilization, and film forming in the formation of skin creams, lotions, gels, serums, hair products and other personal care formulations.

“We are extremely excited to be entering the personal care space with such a wide range of high-performing specialty polymers,” said Jim Stutelberg, President of Primary Products for Tate & Lyle. “Our range of TEXTURLUX® products will help personal care formulators create products that are bio-based, sustainable and available in non-GMO versions.”

Tate & Lyle’s TEXTURLUX® range will allow formulators to use cold processes and minimal shear to achieve easy incorporation into their formulas, both during and post formulation. These products provide excellent rheology, sensational aesthetics and superb stability without being sticky or tacky. They are also particularly suited for sulfate-free formulations.

“These products are very easy to incorporate into formulations, provide exciting benefits, and allow the formulator to incorporate more bio-based content into their formulations,” added Jessica Allen, Primary Products Director of Business Development.

“They work very well with common ingredients used in personal care formulations, can replace synthetic or other natural polymers, and can be stirred directly into emulsions. Our range gives the formulator new tools to create improved and innovative bio-based personal care products”, said Meggan Hostetler-Schrock who heads up Technical Service for the new products.

With the skin care industry thriving, Tate & Lyle, known for its solutions-oriented and collaborative approach, expects its line of TEXTURLUX® products to be well-received by manufacturers looking to create a superior product feel using natural, bio-based ingredients that ease formulation.

We are pleased to introduce Deveraux Specialties LLC and Fitz Chem LLC (a member of the NAGASE Group) as our exclusive distribution partners for these new products.
