Consumers today are looking for healthier snacks and products with less sugar and calories, and often in categories where sugar reduction is more difficult due to the broader functionality (beyond sweetness) that sugar traditionally provides.
Health-driven formulations are increasingly common in the more indulgent categories like ice creams and other frozen treats. As a disruptor brand , Killer Creamery embraces healthy-driven innovation with its keto-friendly ice cream formulation. We were excited to partner with them to help the company find an inulin-alternative fibre for their low net carb ice cream formulation - and to perfect the product texture.
Our team of stabiliser and functional systems experts created several variations , blending our PROMITOR® Soluble Fibre, DOLCIA PRIMA® Allulose and PUREFRUIT™ Monk Fruit Extract to successfully meet the brand’s sensory requirements.
In recent years , we have helped US-based confectioner Smart Sweets to reformulate its range of low sugar candy to include DOLICA PRIMA® Allulose, our low calorie sweetening ingredient.
The successful reformulation has seen us continue to operate as a trusted partner and regularly assist, as an extended part of Smart Sweets’ own team, in optimising the sweetness of its new er formulations. Our team’s expertise in sweeteners and chewy confectionery, along with our PUREFRUIT™ Monk Fruit Extract, a plant-based calorie-free sweetener, helped create just the right sweetness profile for each product.
By helping to create indulgent-tasting but lower-sugar products that help deliver on consumer health goals, we’re proud to be living our purpose of Improving Lives for Generations.
