Introduction to GENUGEL® Carrageenan

From free-flowing liquids to liquid gels or self-supporting solid gels, GENUGEL® Carrageenan is our multifunctional gelling agent. Sourced from red seaweed, it can be a vegan, nature-based alternative to gelatine or synthetic ingredients, depending on your formulation. GENUGEL® Carrageenan helps to thicken, gel and stabilise chocolate milk, milk shakes, creamers and other dairy or dairy alternative beverages. It prevents protein separation for the consistent uptake of nutrients from first to last sip. 

From dishwashing detergent gels to insect bait gels, GENUGEL® Carrageenan acts as a water-binding agent to thicken and improve the texture of surfactant systems and emulsions. 

GENUGEL® Carrageenan can be used to create a more stable gel structure in meats like hams, turkey breasts and sausages. It helps bind water and fat together for better mouthfeel and texture. 

GENUGEL® Carrageenan provides viscosity and a range of smooth and luxurious textures. It can be used to replace synthetics in shampoos, lotions, shower gels and other personal care product formulations. COSMOS® and ECOCERT® Certified grades available. 

GENUGEL® Carrageenan acts as an alternative to gelatine for creating vegan dessert options with a stable set consistency and texture.
