Showcasing our oat ingredients at Food Matters Live 2017.

[London, 17 November 2017]: Tate & Lyle PLC (Tate & Lyle), a leading global provider of speciality food ingredients and solutions, is exhibiting at Food Matters Live (21 - 23 November) showcasing a range of tailored oat solutions to food manufacturers.

Based at stand 102 at ExCeL, London, Tate & Lyle will be offering visitors the opportunity to sample a blueberry smoothie prototype enriched with PromOat® Beta Glucan, a natural soluble fibre made from non-GMO Swedish oats.

PromOat® Beta Glucan can be used for a number of solutions, including boosting the fibre content in products to achieve front of pack claims for fibre nutrition. It also helps reduce blood cholesterol and is very well suited for beverages such as smoothies or dairy alternatives due to its solubility. Its moisture-binding and texturising properties enable PromOat® Beta Glucan to replace some of the fat and/or sugars in recipes without affecting taste or texture.

Saquib Ramday, Product Manager at Tate & Lyle, said: “There’s a large consumer demand for oat-enriched products due to the numerous health benefits associated with oat beta glucan. According to research, consumers of all ages are motivated to buy products with cholesterol benefit claims. And, PromOat® Beta Glucan, which labels as oat fibre, is the most preferred fibre ingredient for consumers to see on a label.1

Dr Kavita Karnik, Director of Nutrition at Tate & Lyle, will also be conducting a talk during the show around the theme of sugar reduction. The session, entitled ‘Assessing the sugar reduction programme: how low can it go?’ will take place at the Conference Theatre on Wednesday 22 November, between 10.45-11.45am.
