Introduction to STADEX® Dextrin Adhesives

Dextrin, Functional Industrial Starches

STADEX® Dextrin adhesives are a group of starch-based products used in a large number of industrial applications.

STADEX® Dextrin partially hydrolyzed starch adhesives are prepared by heating or dry-roasting starch in the presence of an acid catalyst. The dextrin exhibits a thinner-cooked paste viscosity, increased cold-water solubility, and colour change from off-white to yellow.

STADEX® Dextrin adhesives are useful in a large number of products that require a liquid or dry binder. STADEX® Dextrin adhesives range from lightly thinned to very highly hydrolysed, offering a wide range of cold water solubility and functionality. The highly hydrolysed dextrins permit the make-up of quick drying, high solids pastes that are extremely tacky.

STADEX® Dextrins act as a binder and film former across your application range. This starch increases water solubility and viscosity stability in formulations, helping produce pastes that are less viscose.
