Community involvement

April was National Volunteer Month in the US and as we look back on the month, we reflect on the year that’s led us here. Despite the many barriers Covid-19 presented, we are happy to have found ways to give and serve alongside the communities we call home.

This March we’re especially pleased to be celebrating three years of supporting nutritious meals for students and neighbours in need, with The Foodbank Inc. in Dayton, Ohio, US.

This February, we were proud to share a second round of support for COVID-19 emergency meals with our 25+ food banking and charitable partners across the globe. With this donation, we’ve helped to provide an estimated total of one-million meals in the past year!

With sites in more than 60 communities worldwide and a workforce of around 4,200 people, it’s not uncommon for neighbours, friends and family to work in our business. After a year of many challenges but also numerous acts of compassion and kindness, the Tate & Lyle Global Choir came back together again in December to record a new song to celebrate music and each other.

As a global company with colleagues and facilities in over 30 countries, we embrace the responsibility we hold in building thriving communities. We see this role of working side-by-side for good as an essential part of how we live our purpose of Improving Lives for Generations.

Our dietary patterns are changing as we spend more time at home and inevitably more time in the kitchen. As the weeks pass we may find ourselves seeking recipe inspiration or looking for tips on efficient meal planning and grocery shopping or wondering if our new diets are healthy.

The protection of our employees, the communities we live and work in, and the environment is foundational to our business.
